I'm Laken.
I am a travel blogger and photographer from Arkansas, USA. Though I am self-taught, writing and photography have always been an interest of mine. My childhood short stories and digital camera snapshots have transformed into my Work on Mondays Travel blog and photography!
And, though I work as a physical therapist, my life would be unfulfilled without travel and without continually challenging my creative side!
From digital fun to manual professionalism.
Throughout childhood, I was the girl with the digital camera taking photos of everything on the family farm and everyone at school. When I turned 18, I went to the bank to get my first loan to start my credit; it was to purchase my first DSLR camera.
Little did I know, shooting in manual and working a DSLR is vastly different than a digital camera. Though the learning curve of photography is never-ending, as I've gotten older, my passion for photography has only grew and I love working to improve my skillset!
I upgraded from my very first Canon EOS Rebel T1i to the Sony Alpha 7iii in 2021 and invested in the Sony 24-70mm lens in October of 2023. Photography has only gotten more fun from here!
Creating imagery for brands.
My next steps in developing my photography skillset is to master brand imagery. I love capturing my travels in still-photos that will be timeless, but I want to help brands bring their business to life through photography as well!
I am open to photography for any brand (clothes, phone case, bags, anything) for their use or to collaborate with travel brands to create mutually-beneficial content.
